Background of the National Parks Passes.

In 2004, the new Interagency Pass Program was created to not only make it easier to visit our national parks and forests, but to also assist the elderly and disabled by providing cheap access to these national treasures. The participating agencies include the National Park Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture - U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Reclamation.

The pass series was named “America the Beautiful - National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass”, and has been designed to offer everyone a means of affording access to their something to National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands.

Features of the National Parks Passes.

The cost was set at $80.00 which is less than a one day pass into most amusement parks. The pass is available to the general public and lasts for one year from the date of purchase. Live near a national park? If you were to go to one park per month for the duration of the pass, each of the twelve vacations would run just $6.67 per visit.

Each pass allows a family access to and use of ALL national parks and Federal recreation sites that have an entrance fee. You can have up to four adults in the vehicle and children under 16 are admitted free.

Visit once or return every month, the pass will get you in during all four seasons and on holidays too. It may just be the best deal in affordable family vacations available today.
